Michael Sheen Tweets from set of New Moon

Michael Sheen has posted on Twitter from the Vancouver set of New Moon. He's playing Aro, one of the Volturi.
just got to set with much needed coffee in hand. all goes well in Volturian Vancouver. doing big scene at the moment with Edward and Bella
Met Stephenie yesterday on the set. She was charming and enthusiastic and very positive. Keep forgetting how freaky i look with my red eyes
i think Dakota may look the most unsettling though. So angelic yet so weird. As Jane that is of course. like an evil red riding hood.
just did a big photoshoot for publicity stills- all the Volturi. We are one freaky looking bunch.
Have decided my Aro is a cross between the Blue Meanie, the Childcatcher and Nick Cave. But with red eyes.
Can't wait to see him in costume!

Team Jacob Rejoice - It's Taylor!
Perez just posted this quote from the director of New Moon, that Stephenie Meyer put up on her site:
"I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.
The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part. I think that fans of Twilight the book and the movie will be surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon; and I'm looking forward to working with him and the rest of the cast in realizing the film.
very best
Chris Weitz"
Reportedly, Taylor had been doing everything he could to keep the part. He's put on 19 pounds already to beef up for the changed Jacob, and says he has 10 more to go. I'm glad for him and glad we'll have continuity between the films.

Twilight Premiere!
Squeeee! It's nice to have friends in high places!
My friend Darling Diva attended the Twilight premiere in LA on Monday. She got an amazing spot near the red carpet, and sent me her fantastic pics from the night. View the whole set on flickr here. She's written about the night on her blog, too. Yeah, I'm not too jealous.
Update:
Found of pic of Darling Diva herself! She's the one with the big black camera under the green sign (to the left of Robert.) THAT'S how close she was. Holy crap!
Here are a few more of my favorites from her pics:
Robin Pattinson who Darling Diva described as
A bit frazzled...poor baby
Kellan Lutz aka Emmett Cullen
...a total hottie and I am now his forever fan. He was so very sweet and when I asked him for a "little" hug...he said...what about a "BIG" one and went for it. OMG!!! I am still swooning.
Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight books signing autographs:
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was there! Swoon!
She has some great shots of the crazy atmosphere:
View them all here on flickr and be sure to check out her blog!

Robert Pattinson Mob Scene!
It got scary in San Fran yesterday, and I'm not talking about Stop H8 rallies! Robert Pattinson was due to appear at a mall, and had to cancel due to the mayhem that ensued:
Twilight star Robert Pattinson was forced to cancel a signing at a store in California - when the crowds outside surged out of control.
Security staff at the Hot Topic store in San Francisco only expected around 500 people to attend Monday's event and were overwhelmed when thousands of fans turned up to get a glimpse of the actor.
And the scene on the street outside the shop soon turned ugly as the desperate movie fans surged forward, with many people getting caught in the crush - forcing organisers to scrap the signing and call police.
One girl is said to have suffered a broken nose, while another fainted.
In happy news, my friend Darling Diva managed to meet Robert last night after the earlier event was canceled. She got him to sign a poster after she waited in the cold, got stepped on, pushed, and shoved. Hope you got pictures!
Entertainment Weekly has three collector covers and features Twilight this week. Yummy cover pic! I really don't think anyone adequately prepared Robert Pattinson for what he'll be facing after this movie comes out. The interview in the magazine says that author Stephenie Meyer worried about the same thing:
''There is going to be a group of girls who will follow his actions from now on,'' says Meyer. ''I asked the producer, 'Is Rob ready for this? Have you guys prepped him? Is he ready to be the It Guy?' I don't think he really is. I don't think he sees himself that way. And I think the transition is going to be a little rocky.''

Twilight Fandemonium
Twilight created something new at Comic Con -- an invasion of Fangirls. 6500 fans screamed like a Beatles concert at every utterance by Robert Pattinson who plays vampire Edward, and screamed again during the showing of a key scene from the movie.
LA Times interviewed Robert Patterson just after the Twilight panel, and he looks a bit dazed from the experience. And he thought Harry Potter was big (he played Cedric).
Anne Thompson from Variety wonders if men critics will ever understand Twilight:
Many men are not trained to do see things from the perspective of the opposite sex. All women are. That's one reason why today's movies are so geared toward men, while women starve for material aimed at them. Women are accustomed to going along and accepting slim pickings in pictures by and about men. Even at Comic-Con, there's a sense that female fans are yearning for romance. The screaming response to Twilight's Brit heartthrob Robert Pattinson was enormous. He could be the next Leo di Caprio after Titanic, if Twilight hits as big as I suspect it will.
Men here were scratching their heads over Twilight. No clue.
EW snatched an interview with Stephenie Meyer, author of Twilight, after the panel, and gets her reaction as well. Watch the four part interview on video here. She's more used to that high pitch screaming from her book signings!

Hail the Undead Hero
Perez shows us Friday's EW cover!
Vampires are big, very big, in case you didn't know. The fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's vampire book series, Breaking Dawn, comes out the first weekend in August, and the movie Twilight, based on the first book, is due out in December.
Also, in September, HBO's premiering the vampire show True Blood on September 7th.
True Blood is based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris. It's set in a world where vampires have come out into the open, thanks to the development of synthetic blood that allows them to survive without feeding on humans.
Anna Paquin will star as a mind-reading waitress who's drawn to a vampire who arrives in her small Louisiana town.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer
While waiting to be able to see Indy 4, I spent the weekend relaxing and mostly reading. I dove into The Host by Stephenie Meyer, best selling author of the Twilight series. It's a Sci-fi novel, and her first book aimed at adults. It's Sci-fi for people who don't like sci-fi, a story of what it means to be human. I adored this book!! I stayed up until three in the morning Saturday night reading, and reached for my glasses and the book the minute I woke up. I could not put it down! Thanks to Darling Diva for introducing me to this fantastic author. The Twilight series is great, and The Host was so satisfying. It's been awhile since I had a book like this that I could. not. stop. Reading!
Here's Amazon's description: Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.
Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.
Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring a vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.

Twilight Trailer!!
I didn't even know the movie had been filmed! Twilight is based on the best-selling series of vampire novels by Stephenie Meyer. Twilight will be released on Dec 12. They'd better get this one right, because there is a huge fanbase for these books, mostly teenage, but not all (I'm one!). Nancy clued me in to this amazing vampire love story series, and coincidentally, while I was typing this post, Stephenie Meyer's latest book, The Host, arrived on my doorstep from Amazon. Kismet!
I just realized the guy playing Edward was Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies! Great choice!
Stephenie Meyer says this is her favorite video clip about the movie:
