First official Pics from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland
The film doesn't come out till 2010, but we have our first look at some of the characters. Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter is the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway the White Queen. Alice will be played by relatively unknown 19-year-old Mia Wasikowska from Australia, who was beyond excellent as a suicidal gymnast on HBO's In Treatment.
Man, some makeup artists had fun with this film!!

First Clip of Heath Ledger in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp finished out the filming in Heath's role. It will be interesting to see the reaction to this last film of Heath Ledger.
This clip was shown to opening night audiences at Cannes.
The film, set in the present day, follows the immortal 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) as he leads a travelling theatre troupe that offers audience members a chance to go beyond reality through a magical mirror in his possession. Members of the troupe include a sleight of hand expert, Anton (Andrew Garfield), and a dwarf, Percy (Verne Troyer); Parnassus had been able to guide the imagination of others through a deal with the Devil (Tom Waits), who now comes to collect on the arrangement, targeting the doctor’s daughter (Lily Cole). The troupe, which is joined by a mysterious outsider named Tony (portrayed by Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell), embark through parallel worlds to rescue the girl.

Public Enemies Trailer Out!
Ah, the famous La Salle Street Canyon in Chicago! My husband works a couple blocks from here. You've seen it in the Dark Knight movies, too.
I can't wait to see this film, partially because they filmed a lot of it in the Chicago area. The trailer looks amazing:
Directed by Michael Mann (Heat), Public Enemies tells the real-life story of gangster John Dillinger (Depp), and how, due to his (and his pal's) multi-state crime spree during the 1930s, the US government had no choice but to create the FBI -- whose top agent, Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale), was the one assigned to finally track down Dillinger and bring him to justice. The film also stars Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, Channing Tatum, Giovanni Ribisi, and Billy Crudup.

Captain Rob Sparrow?

There's a rumor going around that the part of Captain Jack Sparrow's brother in Pirates of the Caribbean 4 will not go to Russell Brand, as previously was rumored. Russell Brand's slamming of the Jonas Brothers' chastity is the tip of the iceberg as to the ways he has offended people in recent months and Disney is touchy about their brand, er, child actors. I think Russell would be perfect as Johnny Depp's brother, but this latest rumor has me excited. If Orlando Bloom is out, who's your heart throb in the movie then, to bring in all those teen girls (and their moms)? Robert Pattinson! My how his movie stardom has changed things, eh? So far this is all rumor. I'll believe it when it's printed on Nikki Finke's blog or Variety.

Russell Brand Captain Sparrow's brother?
Could this news be more perfect? This is putting whip cream and a cherry on my day!!
From WENN:
British comic Russell Brand is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star is rumoured to be in line to play the brother of Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow.
A source tells U.K. newspaper The Sun, "There couldn't be a role more perfectly suited. There's a lot of Jack Sparrow in his mannerisms and behaviour. Depp's accent isn't a million miles away from Russell's either.
Russell joining the Sparrows alongside Johnny and Keith Richards as their dad will complete the ultimate on-screen pirate family..

Alan Rickman joins Alice in Wonderland
Is it just me, or did Alan Rickman's promo pic for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves strongly foreshadow his upcoming role as the hookah-smoking caterpillar in Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland? Alan Rickman's the latest star to sign on for what's shaping up to be the weirdest movie ever. Johnny Depp will be The Mad Hatter, as we know. Also on board: In Treatment's Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen, and Crispin Glover as the Knave of Hearts. Christopher Lee will be involved as something (The White Knight, maybe?), and Danny Elfman will do the music.

All for Matlida
When I read this on Perez, this just made me go Awwwww!
According to the UK's The Sun, the three Hollywood stars who completed Heath Ledger's final film role have donated their pay to his two-year-old daughter, Matilda.
Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell were worried for Matilda’s future as Heath left an old will which did not include the little one.
Heath's dad, Kim Ledger, is in control of Heath's estate. Family members have said they're concerned that daddy will mismanage the actor's money.
The three played versions of Heath's character, Tim, in fantasy epic The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.
Film director Terry Gilliam said, “They didn’t take money — it goes to Heath’s daughter. That’s extraordinary! And wonderful . . . and when you’re part of that, you think, ‘Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people. And we’ve got a movie full of wonderful people who did extraordinary things to help.”
Johnny Depp is a father of two, Jude Law has four and Colin Farrel has a son.

21 Jump Street - the MOVIE??!
Perez reports:
Remember 21 Jump Street, the 80's undercover cop TV show that introduced the world to the magnificence that is Johnny Depp?
Well…according to reports, Superbad star Jonah Hill is in negotiations to develop a movie adaptation of the show!
Jonah Hill????
Let's hope he doesn't (ruin) star in it!
Hill's going to write the screenplay and serve as an exec. producer, but it's not clear if he'll make an appearance in the movie.
Neal Moritz of I Am Legend and 21 Jump Street co-creator Stephen J. Cannell will produce.
Sadly, we're not expecting Johnny Depp to make an appearance. Do you?
Johnny's too um, seasoned, to re-visit his past this way, right?
And, this announcement proves once and for all that originality is officially dead in Hollywoodland!
