The look on Adam Brody's face when Kristen Stewart is mentioned -- priceless. Also love the Robert Pattinson doll at the end!

It's Official - Breaking Dawn will be Two Films

It's official! According to Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood, the deals have been struck to make Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer's longest novel in the Twilight series, into two films. They will be shot back to back in October. No word yet on the director.

Breaking Dawn is being adapted by Melissa Rosenberg, who has adapted the scripts for all the other Twilight movies.  She'll have a bit more of a challenge with Breaking Dawn, as several of the scenes in the book are definitely not PG-13.

I'm not at all surprised that they decided to go with two films.  It's just like The Hobbit.  Why wouldn't you milk the franchise for all you can, if you can get the actors to sign on for both?  Wonder how much Summit had to pay to make this happen, as the three main actors had only signed for four films.

Eclipse is due out June 30th.

We are Fangirls, Hear us Roar!

Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” tore up the box office record for best opening day, grabbing the title away from Warner Bros. “The Dark Knight,” and earning a spectacular $72.7 million yesterday at 4,024 theaters.
The only question is if New Moon can break Dark Knight's three day opening weekend record of $158 million.  This is an amazing achievement for a movie aimed at girls and women.  Rowr!  We have the dollars, too, movie executives, and we come out for what we love!

I saw an early afternoon showing on Friday, and the theater was full of Twilight Moms like me since all the tweens were still in school.  I thought it was a good adaptation, but I don't know how it will play to people who have not ready the books.

New Moon - Volturi Fight Clip

Mine is probably not the typical reaction, but my favorite part of seeing this sneak peak clip is finally hearing Michael Sheen's take on Aro. Awesome!

New Moon Werewolf Clip

This new picture from New Moon and a clip of Bella confronting Paul and the wolf pack just came out. It's short, but shows a bit more of the scene than what we saw in the trailer. It was released for download exclusively on iTunes.

Adventureland - Mini-Film Review

I finally rented Adventureland last week.  We couldn't get tickets for its premiere at Sundance last January, and somehow missed it this summer.  Greg Mottola, the writer/director, is the same one who made Superbad.  The trailer made it seems like it is a similar madcap raunchy comedy.  It's actually a much sweeter film than you would expect.

Jesse Eisenberg plays James, a recent college graduate with an English degree.  He's not qualified for many jobs, and with his family's changed financial circumstances he has to find a summer job.  The only thing left is working at the local amusement park Adventureland.  Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig play the hilarious owners.  Ryan Reynolds is the maintenance guy with the rep that he once jammed with Lou Reed.  James is immediately attracted to his fellow co-worker played by Kristen Stewart.  I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well she acted in this film.  She had much more range to show in this role, as she has a secret affair with the married Ryan Reynolds character.  It was interesting that Ryan Reynolds was playing kind of a sleazeball, too, as he has been so squeaky good guy in his recent Rom Coms.

Jesse Eisenberg's character is similar to every one that Michael Cera has ever played.  He's nerdy and a little naive, but somehow I found Jesse Eisenberg much more annoying to me than Michael Cera ever is.  He's supposed to still be a virgin after graduating college.  I suppose that's realistic, but I just found it difficult to swallow.

The plot is not completely predictable, and even the "sexpot" supporting character was allowed a little depth.  It's a lot of 80's nostalgia, too, especially with the music (a Foreigner cover band makes a funny appearance at one point).  I give it three stars for a surprisingly sweet story, and not just being a formula picture.  I won't, however, be going out of my way to see the next Jesse Eisenberg film.  Worth a rental.

New Moon Posters!

I think this looks like a romance novel clutch, don't you? I kind of prefer the ones with Taylor, Edward and Bella.

Very cool of the Voluturi!

New Moon at Comic Con

I am so jealous of everyone at Comic Con this weekend. Some day I'll make it there.

Rope of Silicon has posted some clips from the New Moon panel, so we can all pretend we were there in the insanity, too. Except we didn't have to wait for hours, or camp out!

NEW MOON trailer - Fan Made

Check out this amazing fan made trailer for New Moon! She's compiled clips from 8 movies, and even a car commercial to make this fantastic video trailer!

The poster looked very similar to the fan made one floating around the internet for months. It will be interesting to see how the "official" trailer measures up to this!

Thanks to Robert Pattinson, for Showering

I adore Go Fug Yourself, and this post of theirs had me laughing so hard tears came to my eyes. Even when they compliment, the snark comes out!

Well Played: Robert Pattinson
As a follower of celebrity trends, a woman, a person blessed with the power of sight, and a human being, I would like to officially offer a heartfelt expression of thanks to Robert Pattinson, for showering:

You clean up so good, dude! You're so cute! Was it really that hard? (Your tie is like a hair too short, but let's pretend that was just because Kid Who Plays Jacob That Everyone Wants To Recast Maybe was throttling you with it earlier, in some kind of job-insecurity-related stress rage, and we really can't hold you responsible for that. Especially in light of the fact that you look SO MUCH BETTER THANK GOD.)

Stewart, I'll deal with you later. Let's just say...Jessica Biel's Unwashed Oscar Hair of Shame was maybe not the right choice.
LOL!! The picture is from their press junket to Tokyo for Twilight.

Hugh Jackman and Robert Pattinson have a karaoke night

Oh, to be a fly on the wall! Right after the Oscars, Hugh Jackman and Baz Luhrmann flew out to Tokyo to promote Australia, and on the same flight were the actors of Twilight, including Robert Pattinson. From Just Jared:

At around 10PM on Wednesday (February 26), Rob joined Australia star Hugh Jackman, director Baz Luhrmann and producer John Palermo at a karaoke bar near their hotel, as first reported by E!. Here’s the connection: On Sunday, Rob presented at the Oscars, Hugh ably hosted the swank event, John created the flashy opening number, Baz choreographed the “Musicals Are Back!” number and everyone wound up taking the same flight to Japan together. A Tokyo journalist confirms to JustJared.com that the foursome (plus friends) sang for a few hours before Rob’s costars Kristen and Taylor joined in on the fun.

Nick Frost and Simon Pegg in new comedy "Paul"

I had not heard about this movie before today, and the description alone has me howling. I adore Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and their Hot Fuzz is one of my all-time favorites.

‘Paul’ is about two British geeks who make their way over to America to hit up the biggest geek fest of them all… Comic-Con. From There they decide to take a road trip to Area 51, where they have a close encounter with a small alien named Paul who asks the two geeks to help him find his way home.

Paul is being directed by Greg Motolla who directed Superbad, and the new Adventureland with Kristen Stewart which darn it all I could not get tickets to see at Sundance. The alien may be 75% CGI. I cannot wait for this one! It starts filming this spring, and will be out in 2010.

Basically, these two guys could read the phone book and I'd probably crack up laughing.
