New Stills from The A-Team

The shirtless one of Bradley Cooper as Faceman was all I really needed, but there are three more at /Film.

Thanks 20th Century Fox for releasing one for the ladies!

The A-Team Trailer arrives

Totally cheesy, and on purpose for the true blue A-Team fans. I'll be there! Yes, that's Sharlto Copley from District 9 as Murdock. Can I just freeze frame that shirtless shot of Bradley Cooper as Faceman?

Clash of the Titans Trailer

I really admired Sam Worthington in Terminator Salvation. He was the best part of that movie. This weekend we'll see if he lives up to his promise in Avatar. He's an up and comer. Looks good here in Clash of the Titans!

First Look at A-Team

A-Team doesn't come out till June 2011, but we have our first official cast photo today. Bradley Cooper looks awesome as Faceman (Dirk Benedict's role on the TV show). Liam Neeson is Col John ‘Hannibal’ Smith, Sharlto Copley is Capt. ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock, and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is Sgt Bosco ‘B.A.’ Baracus.

Do you have the same reaction I did seeing the below photo? Start with Bradley, looking good, scanning right, scanning right (Sharlto looks good), WTF??!!! That's Liam Neeson?! Click on the picture to enlarge it.

Taken - Mini-review

So, I finally rented and watched Liam Neeson in Taken this weekend. Totally ridiculous plot, but man it was fun watching Oscar nominated actor Liam Neeson do some serious ass kicking! The film is a non-stop adrenaline pumping action ride as Liam Neeson will do anything it takes to get his kidnapped daughter back from some Albanian baddies.

Here's one of my favorite scenes:

Forget the Oscars. This movie is just plain fun. If you haven't seen it, you need to rent it to see all the ways Liam kills and maims those baddies! Three stars.

And Liam Neeson is tall. My husband and I passed right by him in the parking lot of our hotel at 1 in the morning one night. He was in town to promote Five Minutes of Heaven with James Nesbitt (who I did meet), which is coming out soon in limited release.

Remembering Natasha Richardson

I have been following the story of Natasha Richardson's tragic accident since Tuesday night, praying that the reports that she was brain dead weren't true. She and Liam Neeson were totally devoted to each other and were married for almost 15 years. They have two boys, 13 and 12. Natasha Richardson was the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave, but made her own way as an actress. She won a Tony on Broadway play Sally Bowles in Caberet. She and Liam starred in an O'Neill play together and also in the movie Nell.

In reading about her career, I forgot that she starred in The Handmaid's Tale, based on the book by Margaret Atwood:

In Nell, she starred along with Liam and Jodie Foster. She and Liam married shortly after filming.

I loved her as the mother in Parent Trap, back when Lyndsey Lohan was talented.

She starred in the movie Evening, playing the daughter of her real life mother Vanessa Redgrave.

She was due to act in a play with her mother later this year.

What a tragic loss, and one can't help but think about Liam Neeson's role in Love Actually as a man who loses the love of his life and is left with a son to raise. My heart breaks for him and their two sons.

Taken Trailer

I agree with Ain't It Cool. It looks like it will be fun to see Liam Neeson kick some ass when his daughter's been kidnapped.

I do like the idea of a kidnapping drama in which a father refuses to fork over his daughter's ransom because he can kick ass like nobody's business. I don't imagine that approach boasts a huge success rate, but it's a helluva lot more exciting than going on the local news and offering $2 million for the head of Gary Sinise.

Taken will be out September 19.

Spielberg to film Civil War pic

Variety reports on Spielberg's upcoming slate of films, including the long awaited pic with Liam Neeson as Lincoln, based on the book by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Sally Field is attached to play Mary Todd Lincoln.

Steven Spielberg will next focus on Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.

The director, out promoting "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," has told the German weekly magazine FOCUS that he will return his attention to an epic project about the 16th president, for a DreamWorks film that could begin filming possibly by early next year.

Spielberg will first shoot "Tintin" in early fall.

The director had prepped the Aaron Sorkin-scripted "The Trial of the Chicago Seven," but that became sketchy after he could not get rewrites during the writer's strike. Spielberg had enlisted Sacha Baron Cohen and talked to other high profile thesps about starring in a drama about the trial of anti-Vietnam war protesters at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. That film will have to wait.

The Lincoln project could be ready for an early 2009 shoot because of several variables: Spielberg has proved adept at shooting back-to-back films, which he did most memorably when he made "Jurassic Park" and the Oscar-winning "Schindler's List" in 1993. Also, his Lincoln project -- informed by the biography by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin's "The Uniter: The Genius of Abraham Lincoln" -- has a strong script by "Angels in America" playwright Tony Kushner (who rewrote "Munich" for Spielberg).

Spielberg also has Liam Neeson --who played Oskar Schindler -- ready to play Lincoln. Neeson agreed more than three years ago to play the role for Spielberg, and has been waiting for a start date.
