Director Kathryn Bigelow talks about The Hurt Locker
When James Cameron walked up to the podium Sunday night at the Golden Globes, he said what I was thinking, "I thought Kathryn would be up here."
I realized as he gave his very pompous speech, and again for Best Picture, how much I really want Kathryn Bigelow to be the first woman to win Best Director for The Hurt Locker.
The Golden Globes are not necessarily a bell weather for the Oscars (Robert Downey Jr. for Sherlock Holmes?! - good speech though).
I do think judging from the reactions of the audience that Jeff Bridges is a lock for Best Actor, Mo'nique for Supporting, and Christoph Waltz for supporting actor. Anything can happen in the 6 weeks we have left, and I still have high hopes for Kathryn, and The Hurt Locker. Here's a video of Kathryn talking about her movie on the site Making Of.

Producer says there is "every intention" of making Breaking Dawn
/Film pointed out this short film clip on the Making Of site, where producer Wyck Godfrey talks about the plans for making Breaking Dawn:
Breaking Dawn is a very different book from the others in the series. It's definitely an adult book with the marriage of Bella and Edward leading to sex scenes and a bizarre new relationship for Jacob. Adapting that script to keep the movie PG-13 could be much more of a challenge. Really though, with the extreme financial success of the first two Twilight movies, was there any doubt they'd adapt the fourth book?
There are four clips of producer Wyck Godfrey discussing New Moon and Twilight, including breaking down the cliff jumping scene in New Moon. My favorite was this one about the casting difficulties of Twilight. "Why don't we look at some of those Harry Potter kids..." lol!

Natalie Portman launches Making Of site
Natalie Portman has just launched a fascinating new website called "MakingOf". It's got lots of interview clips about the behind the scenes of making movies.
Having started acting in films at 11 years old, when friends visit me on set, I am always reminded how intriguing and lucky it is to get to experience filming up close.
When friends come to the set, they always want to know: Who are the many individuals who take part in the making of a film? What do they do? How do they do what they do? How did they get the chance to do what they do? And often: how can I do that too?
These questions led me to believe that there was a desire for this inside look, especially from the vast majority of people who don’t have friends who can take them on set.
It's like a whole site full of what you normally only find on DVD extras. Needless to say I spent a lot of time watching clips already and have it bookmarked.
For people looking to enter the industry, be it as director or stunt guy, there is advice from all kinds of film insiders on how they got in the biz and what they do.
