Good Morning, Daniel
Good morning, Daniel Radcliffe! EW's latest issues has a few of the pictures from photographer Tim Hailand's new book, One Day in the Life of Daniel Radcliffe. The book has 50 photographs of Daniel in New York last January when he was performing in Equus on Broadway. Part of the proceeds go to charity, and this is the first in a series. You can order the book here.

Happy Birthday Daniel Radcliffe!
It's Daniel Radcliffe's 20th birthday today. And thank God for that as it's getting less inappropriate by the year to have a crush on him. You'll note that I picked mostly bearded pictures to make him look even older.

EW Popwatch even has an inappropriate crush quiz in honor of Daniel's birthday, and I'm glad to say I didn't score very high, but it was a laugh riot. Some of my favorites:
6. You flew to London or New York to see him in Equus. (Bonus point to anyone, tourist or local, who waited by the stage door. An additional point if it was, at the time, snowing or below freezing.)The kicker of the whole thing was THIS:
7. You have DVR'd or rented December Boys but couldn't tell us the plot because you just fast-forwarded to his sex scene with Teresa Palmer.
8. You distinctly remember participating in a debate on who was hotter, Radcliffe or Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory), after seeing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. (Subtract a point if you're now on Team Pattinson.)
9. You still believe that leather-vest shot of Dan in the August 2007 issue of Details was a good idea. (*snort*)
11. You're over 25. (Add an additional point for every five years after that.)
(Bonus point if this inside photo is or will soon become your desktop photo/screen saver.)

I have to say my reaction is more to simply giggle at this picture!!! LOL!

Japanese Fangirl interviews Harry Potter stars
You've got to see this. Out of 10,000 contestants, this girl won the chance to visit the Harry Potter set and do an interview. She almost explodes with excitement. I love it when she zaps Daniel Radcliffe with her wand!
"Touch okay?"
ROFLMAO!!!

Dan Radcliffe obsessed with ping pong
Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy
Could he be more adorable talking so passionately about his ping pong prowess or his cheating in Monopoly? I also love how both he and Meredith are continually startled by the Today show Wand graphic and sound effects!

Dirty Harry - great interview with Daniel Radcliffe
I just read a fantastic new interview with Daniel Radcliffe on the Daily Beast, as Daniel is finishing his last weeks doing Equus on Broadway. It's really worthwhile reading the whole thing, but here's a great bit where Daniel discusses Robert Pattinson's ability to "smolder" which he says he can't do:
Have you contacted your co-star in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix—Robert Pattinson—to give him any advice about his own sudden fame because of the Twilight films? He was once quoted as saying that if given a choice between himself and you, that girls would choose you every time. Also, it includes a clip where Daniel does a kick line with his Equus horses for the Gypsy of the Year contest on Broadway:
I don’t have his number, so haven’t spoken to him. But I can safely say that his insisting that girls would choose me over him that they would not. That they do not. He is the much prettier and can be much more charming. And he can do that thing of being sultry and sexy.
You’re sexy, Daniel. Come on. Own it.
I can’t!
Yet in Equus you have a nude scene eight times a week. You’re flashing around your Elder Wand for all the world to see.
But I don’t know how to be sexy. Rob can just sort of stand there and look at something and start to smolder. And I just can’t do that. I’m a natural fidget.

Naked Daniel Radcliffe may be the real reason for changing date for Harry Potter
Posters like this one have been appearing all over New York, heralding Daniel Radcliffe's run on Broadway in the play Equus. A reprise of the play he did in London, and oh, by the way, he appears NAKED on stage and has sex with horses and blinds them. Not exactly what Warners wants playing at exactly the same time as their family film, Harry Potter comes out.
From Huffington Post:
Warner Bros. has announced moving its sixth Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," from Nov. 21, 2008, to July 17, 2009. The reason? Officially, there is no reason, except that "a spot opened on the summer schedule."
That's not much of a reason. The real story? Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be right in the middle of his sensational, highly publicized run on Broadway in the play, "Equus." Radcliffe appears naked in the play, on stage, and has sex in it was well. That's not the image Warner Bros. wants associated with bespectacled Harry, who remains chaste and virginal.
Indeed, posters for Equus are up all over New York, of Radcliffe's naked torso superimposed on a horse's head. This is not the sort of thing that's taught at Hogwarts. For the movie to open on Nov. 21, Radcliffe would have to do publicity entailing answering questions about blinding horses and having sex with them vs. flying around and making potions.

Harry Potter Movie Like Trainspotting?
DANIEL RADCLIFFE has compared the new Hogwarts blockbuster to Scottish drug flick Trainspotting. He says his sixth movie outing, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, has moments like the cult 1996 film.
Daniel told Empire magazine: "There's a fair amount of sexual energy and drug parallels. We have a couple of Trainspotting moments.
"That's two films I never thought would be mentioned in the same breath."
So does that mean we'll see Harry diving into the worst toilet at Hogwarts to fetch his wand?
There was just one promise from Daniel -- the dark parts are so dark, they're black.
But director DAVID YATES revealed: "We're opening with a big attack. We'll bring a major London landmark crashing down."

James McAvoy to play The Hobbit?!
The internets are buzzing this morning with news from WENN! Can you think of anything more perfect? It hadn't occurred to me before I read it, but it is just the best news!
Scottish actor James McAvoy has been tipped to take the lead role in the new movie version of Lord Of The Rings prequel The Hobbit.
J.R.R. Tolkien's novel is set to be turned into a major blockbuster under the direction of Guillermo del Toro and filming is due to begin in New Zealand later this year.
Sir Ian McKellen will reprise his role as Gandalf and McAvoy is rumoured to be the favourite to take the lead role of hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
The character was played by Ian Holm in the previous films of the fantasy franchise, but he is due to be replaced by a high profile star for the new movie.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "A number of names have been doing the rounds, including Daniel Radcliffe and Jack Black, but James (McAvoy) is the one the film's bosses really want.
"They're expected to have talks soon so hopefully it could be confirmed in the not too distant future."
And director del Toro adds, "I can tell you it's down to a few names that we all agree upon. For our first choice, completely magically we all have the same name."

Daniel Radcliffe grows up
Daniel Radcliffe plays the title role in "My Boy Jack" presented on PBS's Masterpiece Theater, Sunday night, April 20th.
Variety Reviews it here.
It's not exactly "Equus," but Daniel Radcliffe's maturation into this young-adult role is merely one reason to watch a poignant, splendid "Masterpiece" production, which star David Haig adapts from his 1997 stage play. Although set during World War I, Haig and director Brian Kirk have captured the timeless pain of young men being sent off to war, oscillating between that ordeal and the starkly different one endured by his worried family. If there were any doubts, it also demonstrates that for Radcliffe, there is clearly life after Harry Potter.
Haig (featured in "Four Weddings and a Funeral") plays Rudyard Kipling, a hugely celebrated writer in 1914, when he was sounding the drumbeat for war against Germany and urging that "every fit young man must come forward to enlist." That includes his 17-year-old son Jack (Radcliffe), who Kipling pulls strings to get into the army, after the spectacle-wearing lad is unable to pass an eye exam.
